

About the Role
The Construction Superintendent is responsible for overseeing on-site operations for commercial and residential building projects. This role ensures that work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and according to plans, specifications, and quality standards. The Superintendent serves as the primary on-site leader, coordinating subcontractors, managing day-to-day site activities, resolving issues, and maintaining strong communication with project managers, owners, and inspectors.
- Manage all daily on-site construction activities for assigned commercial and residential projects.
- Lead, coordinate, and supervise subcontractors, vendors, and field labor to ensure efficient workflow.
- Conduct daily site walks to monitor progress, safety, and quality.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional jobsite at all times.
- Assist in preparing and maintaining the construction schedule; ensure subcontractors adhere to scheduled milestones.
- Coordinate inspections, deliveries, and sequencing of trades to avoid delays and conflicts.
- Review plans, shop drawings, and specifications to anticipate needs and prevent issues.
- Ensure all work complies with contract documents, building codes, and industry standards.
- Perform routine quality checks and promptly address any deficiencies.
- Work with the project manager to resolve technical questions and maintain project documentation.
- Enforce company and OSHA safety policies; lead daily/weekly safety meetings.
- Identify and mitigate potential hazards; ensure all workers follow safety protocols.
- Document incidents, near misses, and corrective actions.
- Serve as the main on-site point of contact for owners, design teams, inspectors, and subcontractors.
- Provide daily or weekly progress updates to the Project Manager.
- Maintain site logs, photos, daily reports, and required documentation.
- Communicate schedule impacts, material shortages, and field issues proactively.
- Address field conflicts, unforeseen conditions, and coordination issues promptly.
- Work collaboratively with the project manager to manage change orders and cost impacts.
- Ensure punch list items are completed prior to project close-out.
Requirements
5+ years of experience as a Superintendent or in a field leadership role within commercial and/or residential construction.
Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and building codes.
Hands-on knowledge of multiple trades, including sitework, framing, MEP systems, interior finishes, and exterior building envelopes.
Proven ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, shop drawings, and schedules.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple subcontractors and maintain a productive jobsite.
Proficiency with project management and scheduling tools (Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, etc.) preferred.
OSHA 30-hour certification or willingness to obtain.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
